Propeller flange removed. There were a slew of bolts holding that thing on.


Removing bolts that hold case halves together.


Turn it over, remove the mounting flange, and stuff some cavities to keep trash out while gearbox is open.


Turn it back over to split the case halves.


This was a special bolt inserted in a threaded hole to provide the pull force necessary to split the case halves.


Looked like this. Case splitting was finished with gentle persuasion of a pry bar.


Gear box opened up.

I think this was the shaft after rev4 parts swapped.


Re-assembly begins.


Prior to closing the case.


Brush holder bracket mounted on pad already drilled for AN3 bolts. (Note: brush holder is incorrectly mounted backwards and will need to be turned over so electrical tabs face away from prop.)


Brush holder mounted to brush holder bracket. Note the oversize washers between bracket and brush holder. For some reason the brush holder bolt holes are countersunk and the larger washer was required to make room for the countersink.
